Balizar “Boa” Avatar is the CEO and one of the lead instructors at Mountain Viking Tactical Solutions, bringing over twelve years of experience across security, law enforcement, and professional instruction. His career began in contracted security and university campus protection, where he learned early that real‑world safety depends on clarity, discipline, and the ability to stay composed under pressure. From there, he moved into court security and later served as a sworn officer with Yavapai County Adult Probation, gaining firsthand experience in high‑stakes environments where communication, judgment, and restraint mattered as much as technical skill.
During his time with Yavapai County, Boa became a Field Training Officer, responsible for shaping new officers and preparing them for the realities of the job. He authored the official Court Officer Training Manual — a structured, practical guide that remains in use today. That work cemented his reputation as an instructor who could take complex concepts and turn them into clear, teachable systems.
Boa is a certified NRA Pistol Instructor, De‑Escalation Instructor, and Stop the Bleed Instructor, with over seven years of dedicated teaching experience. He is also a Glock Armorer and has completed advanced training in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Close Quarters Combat (CQC), and team tactics. His background blends technical proficiency with a deep understanding of human behavior, decision‑making, and the realities of defensive encounters.
Long before MVTS existed, Boa was teaching — on the range, in classrooms, in briefing rooms, and anywhere people needed guidance. As an Eagle Scout, he grew up with a foundation of leadership, preparedness, and service. Those values carried into adulthood and eventually became the backbone of Mountain Viking Tactical Solutions. Years of refining curriculum, testing drills, and building a team of like‑minded instructors led to the official founding of MVTS on Father’s Day, 2025 — a date chosen to honor the mentors and leaders who shaped him.
Boa’s teaching style is direct, structured, and deeply student‑focused. He believes that great training is not about looking "tacticool" — it’s about building real capability. His mission is to help everyday people develop confidence, responsibility, and the ability to make sound decisions when it matters most. Whether he’s teaching a first‑time gun owner, a security professional, or a seasoned shooter looking to refine their craft, Boa brings the same level of clarity, patience, and purpose to every class.
When he’s not on the range, Boa is developing new curriculum, refining existing courses, or training alongside his team to ensure MVTS continues to grow with intention. His commitment to lifelong learning and community service drives the company forward and shapes the culture of every class.
Boa teaches because he believes knowledge saves lives. He trains because preparation isn’t optional. And he leads because capability — real capability — is built through discipline, experience, and purpose.
